At one·n·ten, Pride isn’t just a celebration, it’s a lifeline. For the LGBTQ+ youth and young adults who walk through our doors, Pride month is a reminder that they are seen, valued, and powerful just as they are. Pride month is a time to honor the journey towards acceptance and equality while creating joyful, affirming spaces where they can celebrate their authenticity, expand their community, and receive support from staff, volunteers, and peers who share their experiences.
Throughout June, I invite you to reflect on the history, resilience, and ongoing fight for equality, equity, and acceptance.
⚒️ June 15 – Anniversary of Bostock v. Clayton County
On June 15, 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed that LGBTQ+ employees are protected under federal civil rights law. This was a historic step forward and a win for our youth and all LGBTQ+ people. However, we must continue to advocate for our rights in the workplace. That’s why one·n·ten’s workforce program, CareerQUEER, empowers LGBTQ+ youth and young adults with the skills and confidence to build successful careers.
